So on Friday night, November 25th, I put on my purple shredded shirt with the word “groupie” across the front (appropriately) and drove down to A.C. with my friend Devin who I had met exactly a year ago at the Ingrosso show at Pacha NYC on 11-13-10. We got to MIXX early and went in to check out the opening DJ. There weren’t many people inside the club up until midnight when it got much more crowded.
Ingrosso was scheduled to start at 12:30, so at that time DJ PS1 started playing some huge tracks including Tiesto’s “Maximal Crazy”, Zedd’s “Shave It”, Wolfgang Gartner’s “Space Junk”, a mashup of Avicii’s “Tweet It” vs. Morgan Page’s “Longest Road”, Fedde Le Grand’s tech banger “Metrum”, and Prodigy’s anthem, “Smack My Bitch Up”. The crowd was dancing and ready to party. Thankfully, nobody started chanting “Ingrosso” during his set. I always hate it when that happens because that must feel horrible. DJ PS1 did a great job getting us ready for Seb, who appeared in the booth a few minutes after 1am.
